ULD management specialist Jettainer and ULD manufacturer Hangyi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership in Unit Load Device (ULD) management, with a particular focus on Mainland China. The agreement was signed during air cargo China 2026.
The partnership aims to deliver technology-driven, globally coordinated solutions for the provision, maintenance and operational management of ULDs by combining Hangyi’s manufacturing capabilities and regional market presence with Jettainer’s international fleet management expertise.
Under the agreement, Hangyi will manufacture and supply ULDs in line with agreed technical specifications, while Jettainer will oversee global ULD fleet management and digital operational control to optimise fleet performance.
ULD fleets will be managed through Jettainer’s proprietary JettWareNG platform. Jettainer will also manage the technical onboarding process, including the integration of IoT-based tracking and monitoring solutions, while its UCD team will support operational coordination.
The companies will also integrate their maintenance and repair capabilities. Hangyi currently operates MRO facilities in China and Kuala Lumpur, with additional facilities planned in Saudi Arabia, Europe and Canada. Jettainer will support repairs outside these locations through its global MRO partner network.
The partnership also covers trucking services and ULD storage. Hangyi will provide domestic trucking and warehouse capacity in China, while Jettainer will support European logistics through its existing transport network.
“With Hangyi, we have a strong partner by our side. Together, we can offer airlines in Mainland China the most comprehensive ULD service portfolio, including the latest IoT tracking technology for maximum efficiency. This partnership brings together Chinese expertise and global capabilities even more closely,” said Dr Jan-Wilhelm Breithaupt, CEO of Jettainer.
“The collaboration with Jettainer marks an important milestone in our growth strategy toward becoming a global high-quality aviation service provider. We continuously enhance our innovative ULD product portfolio as well as our MRO services to deliver first-class, efficient and cost-effective solutions. Together with Jettainer, we are delighted to offer an integrated solution for the Chinese market,” said Fei Qiang, CEO of Hangyi.
