A new joint venture between TVG-Zimsen, a subsidiary of Eimskip, and Kales Group B.V. has established Kales Iceland, which aims to strengthen connections between international airlines and Icelandic importers, exporters and freight forwarders. This will provide neutral General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) services to airlines operating in the Icelandic market.

“The establishment of Kales Iceland represents an exciting new chapter for airline representation in Iceland. By combining TVG-Zimsen’s understanding of the Icelandic market with Kales’ international GSSA expertise and airline network, we are creating a strong foundation for airlines looking to develop their business in Iceland,” Raffaele Manna, Managing Director of TVG-Zimsen said.
Kales Group is set to contribute its international airline representation experience and an established airline network, while TVG-Zimsen will complement this with its local market knowledge and customer relationships.
“By combining Kales’ international experience and airline network with TVG-Zimsen’s local market knowledge, we have a strong foundation for developing Kales Iceland. Our ambition is to build a professional, independent and commercially focused GSSA organization that creates value for our airline principals and for the entire Icelandic cargo community,” Sebastiaan Scholte, CEO of Kales Group B.V. said.
The new connection creates opportunities for businesses trading between Iceland and China. Icelandic exporters, particularly those shipping fresh seafood and other time-sensitive products, gain a new route to reach customers in the Chinese market. At the same time importers benefit from a new scheduled freight connection and greater access to goods and suppliers in China.
“At KALES, we are delighted to extend our already strong partnership with Air China in Iceland. This continued collaboration reflects our shared commitment to delivering high-quality services, fostering long-term relationships, and supporting Air China’s operations in the Icelandic market. We look forward to building on our successful cooperation and further strengthening our partnership in the years ahead,” Adam Gunnarsson, VP at Kales Group commented.
