- Integration with Air Canada Cargo expands real-time pricing and capacity across North America and international routes
- Platform aligns with forwarders’ origin-to-destination workflows, combining trucking and air freight in one system
Airfreight is still largely bought and sold using airport pairs, even though forwarders typically work from origin to destination. Pelicargo is built around that reality.
Pelicargo, a digital air freight procurement and execution platform, has expanded its airline partnerships with another key integration, this time with Air Canada Cargo, strengthening access to real-time pricing and capacity across a wider range of lanes. As shipment timelines compress and margin pressure increases, forwarders are under growing pressure to quote more quickly and execute with greater certainty.
Pelicargo combines airline capacity with origin-based pricing workflows to support this. “The industry is still built around airport pairs, but that’s not how forwarders actually operate. They think in terms of origin and destination. Pelicargo is built around that reality,” said Sean Angata, co-founder of Pelicargo. “Air Canada has been a strong partner for us, and this level of integration is a natural progression of that relationship.” Users can access rates from a broad network of airline partners, including Air Canada Cargo, through the platform, secure capacity, and execute shipments within a single system, reducing reliance on manual coordination.
The addition of Air Canada Cargo strengthens Pelicargo’s coverage across North America, transatlantic and other international routes, giving forwarders greater optionality when quoting and booking.
Forwarders using the platform can price shipments from any US origin ZIP code to global destination airports, combining first-mile trucking with air freight execution. This is supported by a network of more than 2,000 domestic trucking partners, providing coverage into major airport gateways.
By aligning pricing with how forwarders typically quote — based on origin and destination — Pelicargo allows users to move from initial pricing to confirmed airport-to-airport capacity more quickly. The company continues to expand its airline integrations as it builds out its network. The milestone coincides with Pelicargo surpassing 500 registered freight forwarders, reflecting growing adoption among freight forwarders.
