air cargo Africa 2025, taking place from 19–21 February 2025, at The Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, is more than just an industry gathering—it’s a reflection of how Africa is positioning itself at the forefront of global logistics. This year, the event introduces the German Pavilion, further expanding international engagement and collaboration.
A major highlight will be a full-day conference along with site visits dedicated to Strengthening Health and Humanitarian Supply Chains in the Digital Age, underscoring the critical role of air logistics in global relief efforts. Beyond showcasing technological breakthroughs, the trade fair will facilitate high-impact discussions on digitalisation, sustainability and capacity building.
As Africa’s logistics and e-commerce sectors experience rapid growth, air cargo Africa 2025 is the place where industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers will converge to shape the next era of air freight.
With transport logistic Africa 2025 as a co-located event, this year’s trade fair will highlight multimodal transport solutions, reflecting Africa’s need for integrated logistics networks across air, sea, road and rail. There will also be discussion on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) revolutionising cargo logistics, a reality check on Net Zero by 2050, assessing aviation and air cargo’s progress toward sustainability and strengthening health and humanitarian supply chains in the digital age, ensuring faster, more resilient, and technology-driven aid delivery. These themes align with Africa’s infrastructure goals, fostering efficient trade routes while embracing innovation and environmental responsibility.
“Over the years, air cargo Africa has grown into the premier industry platform, strengthening its position as the leading exhibition and conference for the continent’s air freight sector,” Bhupinder Singh, CEO of Messe Munchen India, stated “The 7th and largest edition in 2025 marks a milestone, with Nairobi—an essential gateway for African air cargo—hosting the event for the second time. A key highlight this year is the co-location with transport logistic Africa, expanding the focus to multimodal transport solutions and driving stronger industry synergies. Additionally, the event will see increased international engagement alongside deeper local collaboration, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for Africa’s evolving logistics landscape.”
Key topics
With the global economy emphasising regional trade and supply chain diversification, Africa is emerging as a logistics hub. e-commerce is expected to grow sizeably, with urban centres driving demand for faster delivery solutions, making air cargo a vital enabler. Sustainability will also be a key focus, as stakeholders increasingly prioritise green logistics solutions and advanced digital technologies. Furthermore, as global players deepen their presence in Africa, partnerships and innovation will flourish, transforming the air cargo market into a more connected, integrated, and sustainable ecosystem. These developments signal that Africa is not just evolving but becoming a key force in global logistics.
Africa’s air cargo sector faces challenges such as infrastructure deficits, high operational costs, fragmented regulations and limited capacity. These issues can hinder efficiency and growth. However, these challenges also open doors for opportunities. Moreover, the rise of e-commerce and pharmaceuticals is fueling the need for advanced air cargo solutions. At air cargo Africa 2025, we aim to address these challenges while showcasing innovations that leverage Africa’s potential for long-term growth.
“Trade shows like air cargo Africa are instrumental in fostering collaboration and innovation,” Singh explained. “They provide a platform for stakeholders to engage in meaningful conversations, share best practices, and explore new partnerships. These events help bridge gaps between technology providers, policymakers, and logistics players. By offering a space where challenges can be openly discussed and solutions showcased, air cargo Africa accelerates the adoption of innovations and fosters partnerships that translate into measurable outcomes for the industry.”
Insights on the agenda
Messe Munchen is set to present a distinguished lineup of global industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators at air cargo Africa 2025. Notable speakers include Stanislas Brun (VP, Etihad Cargo), Racheal Ndegwa (CEO, Swissport Kenya), Dereje Derero (MD, Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services), Badr Abbas (Divisional SVP, Emirates SkyCargo), and Dennis Lister (SVP Product & Innovation, Emirates SkyCargo). “Organising an event of this scale involves challenges like logistics coordination, ensuring diverse representation, and creating content that addresses both local and global needs,” Singh said. “We address these challenges through strong partnerships with local stakeholders, deep industry research, and a commitment to adaptability. By engaging with participants early in the planning process, we ensure the event remains relevant and impactful. Our goal is to create an inclusive and productive environment that meets the expectations of all attendees.
“Future editions of air cargo Africa will focus on deepening regional collaborations, expanding innovation zones, and enhancing attendee experiences with technology-driven features like virtual reality demonstrations. We’re also planning specialized tracks for sectors such as e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, and sustainability. Our goal is to continually adapt and innovate, ensuring air cargo Africa remains the go-to platform for the industry’s future.”
