A tentative agreement has been reached to end the Boeing strike five weeks after workers walked off the job, the International Association of Machinists announced on Saturday.
The new deal, which still needs to be ratified by a majority of the union’s 33,000 members before employees return to work, will increase wages 35 percent throughout the duration of the contract and raise company contributions to 401(k) plans.
Members had previously rejected a proposed deal, sparking the first walkout at the company in 16 years, but the union is confident in new offer.
