Kalitta Air has restarted operations between Brussels Airport and Cincinnati, operating six flights per week on behalf of DHL Express. The route is serviced by the Boeing 777 Freighter, currently the most fuel-efficient cargo aircraft in use.
The resumed service puts a clear emphasis on time-sensitive cargo, including pharmaceuticals and life sciences—two sectors central to Brussels Airport’s long-term cargo strategy.
“This renewed connection with Cincinnati strengthens our position as Europe’s leading hub for pharma and life sciences,” said a spokesperson for Brussels Airport. “With DHL’s global express network and Kalitta’s operational reliability, we’re boosting capacity where it matters most.”
The direct transatlantic lane not only supports growing demand in the express segment but also reflects rising pressure to maintain resilient logistics chains for temperature-controlled and high-value goods.

“We’re proud to welcome Kalitta Air back,” the spokesperson added. “These six weekly flights offer vital links for exporters and importers, ensuring speed and efficiency for mission-critical shipments.”
Brussels Airport continues to position itself as a specialist hub for pharma logistics, underpinned by CEIV Pharma certification, dedicated infrastructure, and strong airline partnerships.
