Hurricane Commerce has selected Dubai-headquartered Time Express as its exclusive technology partner for the MENA region.
Time Express will be responsible for re-selling Hurricane’s AI tech which helps to power a smooth customs flow for many cross-border eCommerce customers across the globe.
Time Express, part of the Alrais Group, is an end-to-end international logistics company operating across multiple sectors including eCommerce.
The company is led by CEO Majed Zambaraji, who was previously Vice President of UPS in the Middle East, India, Central Asia and Africa.
Hurricane’s AI-driven solutions are used by carriers, postal operators, retailers, marketplaces, customs brokers, freight forwarders and carrier management systems to tackle various requirements of cross-border trade including HS code classification, duty and tax calculation, prohibited and restricted goods screening, transport screening and denied parties screening.
Martyn Noble, CEO of Hurricane Commerce, said: “The decision to partner with Time Express in MENA is a key element of our global expansion strategy.
“Time Express has a proven track record of working with customers in the region across the end-to-end supply chain and are extremely well versed in the vital role that AI-enabled data has to play in the physical and fiscal flow of goods.
“Majed and his team at Time Express recognise the importance of applied technology in driving operational service levels and cost efficiencies. They are a client-led organisation, putting their customers at the centre of their day-to-day business, which makes them an ideal fit for Hurricane.
“Businesses can seize a huge competitive advantage by harnessing the right tools, including true deep vertical AI tech, to simplify and streamline the lives of their customers, improve their own productivity and reduce total unit cost by minimising re-work of data.
“The one certainty is that the pace of regulatory and fiscal policy change will only accelerate with the cross-border landscape changing more in the next five years than in the previous five to ten years.
“Data requirements will increase, driven by national and regional governmental policy and the requirement for governmental taxation revenues to be collected quickly and effectively.
“To enable the volume and load of data required, system architecture is improving all the time bringing with it enhancements in speed and scale. Hurricane is at the forefront of innovation in this space.
Majed Zambaraji, CEO of Time Express, said: “The entire landscape for cross-border eCommerce is changing dramatically and businesses can gain a huge competitive advantage by adopting best-in-class automated solutions such as Hurricane’s.
“Hurricane is an enabler, allowing businesses to achieve a smoother customs flow through the provision of complete and accurate data, while also meeting increasing security and compliance requirements in areas such as prohibited and restricted goods and denied parties.
“The alternative is customs delays, fines, poor customer experience and lasting reputational damage.
“This is an exciting time for Hurricane as it moves further downstream in the supply chain, working with the likes of forwarders, brokers, airlines and retailers, as well as its traditional customer base of postal operators and carriers. We’re looking forward to introducing the company’s AI tech to potential customers across the MENA region.”
