Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited (Hacis) — the value-added logistics subsidiary of Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) — has elevated its long-standing collaboration with Flexport, a global leader in logistics and supply chain technology, into a strategic partnership aimed at establishing Hong Kong as Flexport’s primary transit hub.
Hacis first supported Flexport with mail-handling services, later expanding its role to include Merge-in-Transit (MiT) solutions and Airport Direct import and export services. Today, Hacis delivers a fully integrated, one-stop suite of solutions that allows Flexport to move cargo through Hong Kong with enhanced efficiency, scalability, and control.
Through its MiT offering, Hacis consolidates shipments arriving from multiple origins under forwarder control at its Hong Kong hub before onward distribution. Its Airport Direct services cover cargo collection, delivery, documentation, on-airport storage, containerisation, and fulfilment. These operations are located immediately adjacent to the apron at SuperTerminal 1, enabling maximum speed, seamless handling, and high-performance service levels.
Ringo Chan, Executive Director of Hacis, said:
“With our fully integrated, one-stop-shop service, we enable Flexport to route cargo via Hong Kong with greater reliability and efficiency. This partnership reflects how Hacis continues to adapt to customers’ evolving needs and support their growth, while reinforcing Hong Kong’s competitive edge in global air logistics.”
Daniel Sanvicente, Senior Vice President, Head of APAC at Flexport, said:
“With its one-stop-shop approach and direct air-side access facility, partnering with Hacis enables Flexport to provide highly efficient, consolidated air services across a broad network. Leveraging Hong Kong’s strategic position as a key gateway for South China origin cargo, this collaboration strengthens our connectivity and service offerings, fueling Flexport’s growth in South China and our expanding presence across Southeast Asia and beyond.”
As global supply chain dynamics continue to shift, Flexport is accelerating the build-out of its APAC network, enhancing its air freight capabilities, and using Hong Kong’s strategic position as a central transit hub for both regional and global trade. This deepened collaboration with Hacis underscores Flexport’s commitment to smoother logistics, greater flexibility, and a more resilient air cargo network.
