Freight forwarders in the United States can now book less-than-truckload (LTL) and linehaul trucking services instantly, thanks to a newly expanded partnership between digital freight platform Freightos and ground transportation provider Forward Air Corporation.
The collaboration integrates Forward’s expansive ground network—covering over 11,000 lane pairs, more than 100 facilities, and reaching 96 percent of U.S. ZIP codes—into the 7LFreight by WebCargo platform. This move enables freight forwarders to seamlessly book door-to-door, airport-to-door, and door-to-airport trucking services alongside airfreight, all from a single digital interface.
The new capabilities mark a major step forward in connecting the fragmented pieces of the global supply chain. Freightos aims to create an end-to-end digital infrastructure where logistics professionals can manage multiple legs of a shipment—whether by air, ocean, or road—in one place.
“This expanded collaboration with Forward reflects our broader growth strategy of supporting more transaction types and more stages of each transaction, from price discovery to final-mile delivery,” said Zvi Schreiber, CEO of Freightos. “We’re proud to integrate with Forward’s unmatched ground network to help power the future of efficient, multimodal logistics.”
Previously focused on rate distribution, the partnership now includes digital booking and will soon offer airport cartage services. This addition creates a vital bridge between airfreight bookings and streamlined ground transport, enhancing operational flexibility and efficiency for forwarders.
Melissa Feeser, senior vice president of sales at Forward, emphasised the need for digital transformation in freight. “Digitisation isn’t optional—it’s essential, because our customers move fast,” she said. “This collaboration streamlines workflows for hundreds of shared customers, enabling faster, more accurate bookings through a single platform. With operational precision—like photo-delivery confirmation—our customers gain control, speed, and full visibility into how their value is delivered.”
The service is initially being rolled out on 7LFreight, with plans to expand across the broader Freightos platform, including WebCargo. The roadmap includes digital payments and expanded cartage services, aiming to create a truly integrated freight experience—particularly valuable for international air shipments continuing by road within North America.
Brennan O’Dowd, CEO and founder of 7LFreight by WebCargo, highlighted the long-standing relationship with Forward. “We’ve been proud to work with them over the years and we are excited for the access that this expanded partnership brings to our forwarder customers, helping them book door to door, middle mile and last mile more efficiently.”
U.S.-based freight forwarders can register on the 7LFreight platform to begin booking Forward services and access a wider network of digital ground and airfreight solutions.
