During a time of heightened supply chain volatility, which has seen shipping costs increase and global delays for customers, specialist freight forwarder Europa Air & Sea (Shanghai) has become a member of the Feta Freight Systems International (FFSI) alliance.
As one of the longest established networks of freight forwarders, FFSI was formed in 1982 by a group of Far East Asia-based companies. Europa’s Shanghai team has joined alongside its UK-based team to help build a strategic global network of partners in the freight industry, fostering collaboration among members and helping to build a more reliable, resilient supply chain for customers.
Angus Hind, Director of Europa Air & Sea, has recently been appointed to the Board of Executive Committee for FFSI, assisting in both the development and growth of the network.
Angus said: “As global supply chains continue to battle uncertainly with the ongoing situation in the Red Sea, being part of a global network of freight forwarders who are of similar size and mindset is integral to Europa delivering a seamless offering to our customers worldwide.
“Our UK team, has leveraged the expanded network the FFSI provides to strengthen its relationships and share its expertise for over eight years now. So, it felt like a great opportunity for our Shanghai team to join the alliance and build on this success.”
Hugo Feng, General Manager for Europa in Shanghai, said: “Our team of 15 in Shanghai is well-renowned for its creative, compassionate approach to customer service, and they jumped at the chance to be able to share this expertise with others in the industry.
“The FFSI believes that collaboration will allow freight forwarders to bring continuity to all far east operations – this is an aim shared by us at Europa, which will ultimately improve the customer experience.”
To drive the customer journey, Europa has invested over £10 million in its inhouse customer-centric Leonardo system. LeoWeb, which is a part of this system and is maintained by more than 100 experts, is providing Air & Sea customers across the globe with better visibility over its consignments, reducing admin time and allowing for real-time tracking data for all stakeholders.
Europa’s expertise, alongside its technological infrastructure, is guaranteeing a seamless movement of goods for customers.
Europa Air & Sea in Shanghai was established in January 2022, based in Powerlong City. The company provides the expertise of a global provider on a local scale with international offices in Hong Kong, Dubai, Delhi and a second Chinese office in Shenzhen. It is a specialist division of the UK’s largest independently owned logistics provider Europa Worldwide Group, which also incorporates Europa Road and Europa Warehouse.
