• Doncaster Sheffield Airport has reached another milestone in its reopening plans after the UK Civil Aviation Authority approved a public consultation on its Airspace Change Proposal.
• The consultation will run from 3 August to 4 October, allowing residents and stakeholders to comment on plans to reinstate the airport’s controlled airspace.
• Approval to launch the consultation is a regulatory requirement and a crucial step towards reopening Doncaster Sheffield Airport safely.

The go-ahead has been given by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to proceed with a public consultation into reinstating airspace around Doncaster Sheffield Airport in what has been described as a “crucial” step in the process to reopen the airport.

The consultation around the Airspace Change Proposal (ACP) will seek the views of residents and stakeholders and be open for comment between Monday 03rd August and Sunday 04th October. The consultation reflects the latest milestone in the process – a regulatory requirement that must be met in order for the airport to have control of the airspace around the site.

Interested parties will be invited to view detailed plans and submit their views via an online consultation portal, with several in-person events also due to be held. Additionally, interested parties can view physical copies of the documents associated with the consultation at 14 locations in the local area.
