- The Q-Rally promotes continuous improvement in air cargo by recognising projects aligned with Cargo iQ standards.
Cargo iQ has awarded two new prizes at its Quality-Rally (Q-Rally) event, held in November in Madrid.
The Q-Rally encourages Cargo iQ members to showcase the issues they worked on and projects they implemented to enhance their operations in line with Cargo iQ’s framework and standards.
Participants present their initiatives and share the insights gained, highlighting the successes and failures, communicating them to the wider Cargo iQ membership, with prizes given to the top presentations.
The “Team Up” award, won by Air Canada, recognises members who have worked to improve a chosen aspect of their operations in collaboration with another organisation or an internal team.
The “Scale up” prize, won by Kuehne+Nagel, explored the work done by a singular company in conjunction with multiple partners to drive improvement on a chosen topic.
“Intentionally sharing the work done and articulating why it matters is part of raising operational quality,” said Marie Seco-Koppen, Executive Director, Cargo iQ.
“Introducing these two prizes encourages collaboration, rewarding the behind-the-scenes work that is driving industry standards forward.”
Air Canada secured the “Team Up” prize for aligning cross functional teams, including operations, commercial, and IT, to deliver measurable improvements together, achieving a seven percent increase in Delivery as promised (NFD) performance.
Air Canada achieved significant gains in data completeness across the network, demonstrating that re-enforcing the Quality Management System (QMS) and providing tools to the relevant staff, drives improvements, making operations more robust and performance more reliable.
Kuehne+Nagel won the “Scale Up” award for identifying root causes behind shipments failing to generate valid air waybill route maps.
Working closely with partner airlines, the company enhanced ENCORE offset management, implemented Participant Identification and Messaging Address (PIMA) updates, and aligned internal processes to resolve the issues.
These updates allow for more of Kuehne+Nagel shipments to be evaluated according to the standard, allowing for better evaluation of the carriers and providing better visibility for shippers.
The Q-Rally took place at Cargo iQ’s Working Group, which brings members together to address shared challenges and jointly develop practical solutions for the air cargo industry.
