Avianca Cargo announced the appointment of Diogo Elias as the new Vice President of Corporate Development. With more than 20 years of experience leading commercial and operational strategies and new businesses in the air cargo sector and different industries, Diogo will be leading strategic projects and continue driving the ongoing transformation of the company.

The business administrator, with a master’s degree in Business, Operations Management, and Statistical Modeling from the University of São Paulo and an MBA from the University of Michigan, will join the Avianca Cargo team in June 2023.

Avianca Cargo is a leader in the region and is the main operator in different markets in the Americas, with 50 years, around 200 weekly cargo flights, and more than 1,300 passenger flights per week. It serves more than 50 destinations with one of the largest networks in America and the A330F as the most sustainable cargo fleet based in the region.
It is the first airline in the Americas to obtain IATA CEIV certifications in three different categories: Pharma, Fresh, and Lithium Batteries; in 2023 it was recognized as a top global leader in air cargo logistics for perishables handling by STAT Times and continues to raise its position in the relevant markets.
