• The direct air freight route establised by LATAM between Miami and Belo Horizonte/Confins airports has seen over 800 tonnes of air freight transported already, during its first year of operations.

LATAM Cargo has announced 829 tonnes of cargo in 46 weeks has been its direct freighter route between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Belo Horizonte/Confins (CNF), as it nears its one-year anniversary. The route is expected to surpass 900 tons upon completing the full 52 weeks of its first year in operation.

Operating once a week on Saturdays, the route utilizes Boeing 767-300F aircraft with a capacity to carry up to 50 tons per flight. Among the main types of cargo handled during this period are equipment, components, spare parts, and other shipments intended primarily for the mining, rail, and manufacturing sectors.

“The consolidation of the Miami–Confins route in its first year highlights the importance of a direct freighter connection between Miami and Minas Gerais, as well as our customers’ confidence in the operation. The route serves critical sectors for the state’s economy, such as mining, rail, and heavy industry, supporting the transport of machinery, components, and parts with greater speed and reliability. Consolidating Minas Gerais as a logistics platform increasingly connected to global markets is a key commitment for BCNF. As the state’s only primary customs terminal, it integrates air, sea, and road transport to deliver end-to-end import and export coverage.

With over 15,000 square meters dedicated to international cargo operations, the facility services strategic economic sectors, including healthcare, automotive, and mining. It also features direct international connections that broaden access for local companies to key global markets via destinations such as Miami, Orlando, Lisbon, Panama City, Santiago and Buenos Aires.
