Talma, a leading airport services company in Latin America and a member of the Grupo Sandoval, through its subsidiary in Ecuador, has obtained the BASC Security Certification (Business Alliance for Secure Commerce), granted by the World BASC Organization (WBO), for the third consecutive year at its Quito and Guayaquil stations. This distinction reaffirms the company’s sustained compliance with the security and control standards established by the international organization.
The BASC certification validates the implementation of practices to mitigate risks and safeguard the integrity of the international logistics chain. In the case of Talma Ecuador, it encompasses processes related to aircraft and passenger services, as well as the supervision and control of airport operations.
The audit highlighted two of Talma Ecuador’s strengths: DELTA, an internally developed technological solution designed to optimize validations during staff selection, and ReconoSer, an institutional program that promotes recognition of behavior aligned with the company’s values.
DELTA uses robotic process automation (RPA) to accelerate and standardize the verification of information for new employees, strengthens traceability, and reduces manual intervention. Meanwhile, ReconoSer enables the acknowledgment of actions that reflect Talma’s values, helping to highlight and reinforce best practices among employees.
“Achieving this certification for the third consecutive year demonstrates our consistent ability to uphold BASC standards while continuing to evolve our management practices. This time, the strengths identified reflect how we are integrating new tools and practices into our processes, with the goal of anticipating risks and meeting the demands of an increasingly dynamic airport operation”, said Delia Guerra, Country Manager of Talma Ecuador.
With this third consecutive certification, Talma Ecuador consolidates a management model focused on risk prevention, control, and continuous improvement, keeping its operations in Quito and Guayaquil aligned with international security standards.
