Turkish Airlines has announced changes to its executive leadership, appointing Prof. Murat Şeker as Chairman of the Board and Ahmet Olmuştur as Chief Executive Officer.
The move sees Şeker, previously Chief Financial Officer, take on the role of chairman of both the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. He has held senior responsibilities across finance, treasury and investor relations at the airline since 2016 and has also served on the board since 2021.
Şeker brings a background spanning both aviation and international finance, including previous roles at the World Bank and Ziraat Bank. He currently chairs the Financial Advisory Council of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), advising on policy issues related to financial sector services.
At the same time, Ahmet Olmuştur has been appointed CEO, moving from his role as Chief Commercial Officer. He has spent his entire career at Turkish Airlines, joining in 2000 and progressing through revenue management, pricing, and commercial leadership roles.
Olmuştur has been closely involved in shaping the airline’s network, sales strategy and customer offering, including oversight of revenue management, distribution systems and the Miles&Smiles loyalty programme. He has led commercial operations since 2024.
The leadership changes come as Turkish Airlines continues to position itself for long-term growth, with a focus on expanding its global network and strengthening its role in international aviation.
