Through a seamless blend of technology and art, passengers travelling through and to iGA Istanbul Airport from every corner of the globe this Ramadan, will have a chance to experience the unifying spirit of the season.
With the launch of its Ramadan Festival and the specially curated Ramadan Village, the airport is bridging the gap between nostalgic Turkish culture, hospitality and futuristic innovation.
Located in both the Domestic and International terminals, the Ramadan Village is a hybrid space operating daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. It goes beyond the limits of a classic exhibition, inviting travellers into a world of calligraphy workshops, paper marbling (Ebru) performances, and nostalgic carousels.

At the heart of the village is The Tree of Unity (Digital Wish Tree), where passengers’ aspirations are transformed into a mesmerising visual feast. This concept is extended to the Experience Photobooths, offering four distinct digital journeys:
- Aesthetic Heritage: Immersive digital Ebru and calligraphy patterns.
- City of Sultans: A modern-ethnic depiction of Hagia Sophia and historic Istanbul streets.
- iGA Galaxy: A futuristic, VR-powered ‘Moon Journey’ reflecting the airport’s smart vision.
- The Shadow Stage: A gamified digital experience featuring the legendary Karagöz & Hacivat.
True to its ‘Family Friendly’ title, iGA is ensuring that its youngest guests are at the centre of the celebration. As the soothing sounds of the ney, oud, and qanun echo through the terminal, children can enjoy high-energy trampoline areas, cartoon screenings, and weekly shadow puppet plays.
The festival experience is crowned by a daily gourmet journey. From 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, travellers can enjoy complimentary traditional treats served with a modern flair, including:
- Reyhan Sherbet and Dates: The refreshing taste of purple basil.
- Ottoman Candy (Macun): Colourful, fruit-flavoured herbal paste.
- Nostalgic Cotton Candy: A sweet trip down memory lane.
In the International Departures area, the Ramadan Post Office allows passengers to write bespoke postcards to their loved ones. iGA takes on the role of a global messenger, sending these cards to any destination worldwide to help create a universal bridge of love and sharing that begins in Istanbul.
