- Aerios has launched a new automation and AI-driven module for its carrier app, designed to streamline air cargo charter sales workflows.
- The solution automates data extraction from email-based requests, generates multi-routing quotations in seconds, and reduces manual input and errors.
- By embedding AI directly into day-to-day charter processes, the module cuts quoting time by up to 80 percent, improves data quality, and supports faster, more consistent commercial decision-making for charter operators.
Aerios, a leading developer of software solutions for the air cargo charter industry and a member of CargoTech, has launched an Automation and AI-driven software module for its carrier App, embedding intelligent automation directly within the air cargo charter sales workflow. The new module reduces manual data entry, simplifies multi-routing quotations, and enables charter carriers to respond to time-critical and information-heavy requests.
Carriers generally receive more than 90% of market requests via email, with packing list details contained within attachments. Processing these requests requires manual data re-entry, pricing of multiple routing permutations, and producing several quotes per request, which introduces delays and increases the risk of errors.
Aerios’ Automation and AI module extracts key operational data from unstructured charter requests across various formats, transforming it into structured data to enable repeatable workflows. The system can automatically generate routing options based on the carrier’s own network, together with positioning and tech stop requirements. It can handle multi-airport requests with multiple origin or destination airports and generate each quotation in seconds. Cargo data is also captured by digitising packing lists that can then support pricing, loadability assessments, and downstream operations.
Rather than wedging AI into the system as a standalone feature, Aerios embeds it within the existing workflow charter teams use day to day. By automating steps the sales team already performs in Outlook and on the web, the system reduces input errors and speeds up response times, with a total reduction in quoting time of up to 80% – an improvement on the 66% already achieved with existing carriers.
By capturing more comprehensive request data, carriers gain access to higher-quality system-generated reports via the reporting dashboard. The outcome is improved commercial data for decision-making and greater staff capacity to focus on customer discussions and revenue-generating activities.
Market demand for the solution is already evident, with customers utilising the automation module for real-world requests. Customers using Aerios last year trusted the system to manage over $1.5 billion in quoted charter value across 7,000 quotations, underscoring the platform’s reliability and commercial value to the market.
The module also uses historical quoting data and machine learning to suggest routing options based on similar past requests, including aircraft positioning and technical stops. This allows newer or junior team members to quote faster, while supporting greater quoting consistency across larger, decentralised teams.
Founder and CEO of Aerios, Simon Watson, comments:
“The introduction of the Automation & AI module for carriers solves an obvious issue the market encounters on a daily basis. It digitises request data within the Aerios environment that will be leveraged within our upcoming modules.”
By delivering a unified, end-to-end system, Aerios aims to transform how air cargo charters are managed and executed, representing a significant step forward in operational efficiency and market accessibility.
