Virgin Atlantic closed out 2025 with over 210,200 tonnes of cargo carried in the belly of its passenger aircraft. With long-haul widebody operations across key transatlantic and Asia routes, the airline has maintained a critical role in high-yield cargo transport, from pharma to automotive.
This freight milestone came alongside a total of 26,380 flights operated and nearly 6 million guests flown, highlighting the synergy between cargo and passenger networks in Virgin’s model. Operationally, the airline also achieved 82 percent on-time performance.
While passenger experience grabbed headlines – with nearly 75,000 cocktails poured in the Heathrow Clubhouse and a new award-winning lounge in LAX — the airline’s cargo logistics quietly delivered consistency and scale.
With new destinations launched in 2025 (Riyadh, Toronto, Cancun) and Seoul and Phuket joining the map in 2026, Virgin Atlantic’s network offers fresh connectivity for shippers. Combined with momentum in India, where the airline now offers 1 million annual seats, there’s clear alignment between passenger expansion and bellyhold potential.
The data, shared by Juha Jaervinen, Chief Customer Officer & Executive Vice President at Virgin Atlantic, in a year-end LinkedIn post, outlined key operational milestones from 2025. Alongside high on-time performance and nearly 6 million passengers flown, the airline underlined its cargo strength.
“Behind every number in these slides is a person — showing up with passion, care and pride to create thoughtful experiences that feel brilliantly different. I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved together. Here’s to building on this momentum and taking on the world in 2026,” said Jaervinen.
