In a groundbreaking move for the Taiwanese air freight sector, Grand Forwarding Limited has become the first company in Taiwan to join the Air France KLM Martinair Cargo Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Programme.

The SAF Programme, championed by Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, focuses on reducing carbon emissions through the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel. SAF is an alternative fuel made from sustainable waste and residues that offers a significant reduction in emissions—estimated by studies to be up to 75%—compared to traditional aviation fuel.

“This milestone signifies an increased awareness among Taiwanese companies about partnering with us to make SAF accessible worldwide,” said in Air France KLM Martinair Cargo.

By integrating SAF into their operations, Grand Forwarding Limited and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo are paving the way for a more sustainable future in air freight. This initiative highlights the importance of industry collaboration in addressing global environmental challenges.

The Cargo SAF programme makes it possible for shippers and forwarders to power a share of their flights using SAF. Customers can choose their own level of engagement, while we make sure that the investment will be used entirely to source SAF. When investing in SAF, our customers receive a third-party audited report linking the amount of SAF purchased to the traffic volume, with an indication of the resulting cut in carbon emissions.
