Cargolux Airlines is happy to transport two lions, Tsar and Jamil, from captivity to their new home in a nature reserve in South Africa.
This remarkable endeavour, made possible through a partnership with the Born Free Foundation, signifies a monumental step forward in the global fight for wildlife conservation.

“I’m pleased to announce that we are supporting the international Animal Protection Organization Born Free in the Endeavor to relocate two lines rescued from a private suit in Ukraine to South Africa,” shares Richard Forson, CEO of Cargolux Airlines, underscoring the airline’s commitment to this noble cause.

These two lions have lived in captivity all their lives and were relocated from Ukraine to a Wildlife Rescue Center in Belgium in 2022.
After they will be flown from Luxembourg to Johannesburg. From there, they will embark on a road trip to the Born Free Big Cat Sanctuary. In this protected area, the lions will find a settled and lifelong home, where they can thrive in their natural habitat in South Africa.
“Two lions were lived in captivity all their lives and were relocated from Ukraine to Wild Life rescue center in Belgium in 2022 and now will be fly abroad from Luxembourg to Johannesburg. From there they will have a road trip to the Born Free Big Cat Sanctuary. In the protected area the lions will find settled and life-long home and natural habitat in South Africa,” elaborates Richard Forson, CEO of Cargolux Airlines, on the logistical intricacies of the operation.
