Grégory will help us deliver the combined power of UPS’s capabilities in India as we rapidly expand our presence to help our customers and Indian businesses grow. His leadership and diverse experience is an invaluable asset to our operations,” Ufku Akaltan, President for UPS UK, Ireland, Nordics, and India, said.
Goba-Blé has held key roles in his 30-year career at UPS. He served as the Managing Director of UPS France. He was Vice President of Engineering for the Americas Region, which encompassed over 50 countries before taking up his most recent role as Vice President of the India, Middle East and Africa district.
“I am honored to take on this role and lead UPS in India. Our focus is not just on delivering packages, but on shaping the future of logistics in India. We are investing right across the business to do just that and I’m thrilled to have highly experienced leaders in India to help us achieve our goals.” said Grégory Goba-Blé, Managing Director for UPS in India.
Abbas Panju has also been appointed as the Managing Director for UPS Small Package India. Abbas joined UPS in 2006, and most recently served as Managing Director for UPS Middle East and Central Asia. In his new role, Abbas will report to Grégory Goba-Blé. His leadership and expertise will be instrumental in accelerating growth and success of UPS Small Package operations in India.
UPS’s recent developments in India include the launch of UPS Premier, a tech-enabled healthcare service offering unprecedented control, visibility and reliability across our customers supply chains. Earlier this year, we also made a strategic investment of $15-20 million in India to set up UPS’s new technology centre in Chennai to complement technology teams in the U.S. and Europe.
In 2022, UPS opened our second dedicated airport gateway in Bengaluru. Combined with our largest facility in India at Delhi airport, it has doubled our export and import handling capacity. We also launched MOVIN Express for India’s domestic logistics market, in partnership with InterGlobe Enterprises. In less than a year, MOVIN has expanded to 49 cities and 3300+ pin codes in India.
